International Exchange is a great way to broaden horizons. International students are always welcome in my classes.

Although 'Corona' (Covid-19) has had a restrictive effect on international exchange activities, visitors from abroad have
joined virtually. See here.

A planned student study tour to Thailand in March 2021 could not actually go there, but we managed to have a range
of stimulating activities nearer to home, which you can see here.

See some activities involving international students and faculty.

They can add many insights, as shown here. Many of them come through AUE's agreements with institutions including these universities:

Aichi University of Education has agreements with a number of educational institutions globally. These allow students to experience a variety of cultures. Some of the places A.U.E has agreements with are:

The Education University of Hong Kong: This agreement was signed in May 2008 when it was Hong Kong Institute of Education. We have had a number of short study trips to HKIEd, with the most recent in February 2019. Students from here and there have also studied at the partner institution. The Hong Kong students who came to AUE have graduated now, but I keep in touch with them.  Here are two of them, Kathy and Tammy, plus former AUE student, Eriko, who we had dinner with in February 2019:

After a preliminary visit in March 2002, a year later an agreement was signed with
Newman College (now Newman University), Birmingham, England

Newman celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2018:

Taka spent half a year studying at Newman.  On 16th April 2013,
he told second-year students about his experience:

Misako studied there (2010-11):
"Studying abroad was one of my goals since I was a junior high school student. Therefore, the year
I spent in the UK is an unforgettable memory in my life. I really enjoyed living in the UK.
Newman University College is not too big so I made loads of friends both from outside and inside the UK.
Though it was hard to take lectures in English, the lecturers were very kind to exchange students so they
helped me a lot. I learned a lot in the university.
The city where I lived, Birmingham, is in the middle area of the island, so I traveled to some nice places
in the UK, such as London, Liverpool, Manchester and so on. I also traveled outside the UK.,
to Germany, Belgium and Holland. It was great to have a chance to go outside the UK during the breaks.
I think studying abroad is not just about learning languages. It's about seeing,  knowing, and understanding
about the different lives in a different world. It makes you feel more confident, and also when you see the
different world, you will gain deeper understanding about your own country as well.
"

Shiomi studied there in 2007. Find out about her experiences here.
