On 4th October, I
joined a class of students online at
Sampoerna University
in Jakata, taught by a friend of mine,
to talk about language and linguistics:
Yusuke, graduated in 2018 and is now
teaching at a junior high school
in Toyohashi. On 3rd October he joined a
teachers' group meeting, where
one of the presenters was James Venema.
3rd August was the
final class of the 'World Education'
course in this semester.
Here are the students who attended:
This year's 4th year
zemi tutorial members meet
on Monday
afternoons.
The tutorial
is 'face to
face' but
masked in this
'Corona' era:
23rd March was
Graduation Day. Here are my three
zemi tutorial members who
graduated:

As well as study, job hunting is a
key focus for
3rd and 4th
year students. Find out one student's views on that,
based on her
experiences.
In late February and
early March I am involved in a tabunka
(cross-cultural) course focussing on
Thailand.
Due to travel restrictions, we cannot go
there as planned, so we have organised
various activities including
a gathering with young Thais living in
Japan, which took place on 28th
February:
