This presentation addresses some difficulties teachers often face while trying to find appropriate materials to use in the EFL classroom.Å@A large segment of the presentation focusses on how to utilize published materials, or design appropriate materials for specific situations. Finally, the presenter introduces his attempt to design appropriate materials for the non-intensive nature of most Japanese university classes, and how this resulted in his writing the McGraw-Hill series, 'What About You?'

Kenneth Biegel has taught English for over 20 years and is currently teaching at Seikei University and others in the Kanto area. He has both published articles and given presentations about various aspects of language teaching, and is the author of 'What About You?' (McGraw-Hill). He is the founding member of the English Teacher and Learner Cooperative (eTLC).
