Our July 2017 meeting:

Our final meeting before the summer
was on Sunday 16th July and looked to the future:
The Innovative Use of Virtual Reality in the Classroom:
Low-cost Smartphone Virtual Reality Headsets for English Language Learners:
An exploratory and practical workshop
with
Josh Brunotte and Chris Hastings:

Participants were shown how until now, the use of Virtual Reality in the classroom has been
limited by cost and size. However, now with the development of a low-cost headset:
Google Cardboard, combined with smartphones and software, the presenters showed how
students are able to practice language, experience and produce English language content,
and prepare for study abroad programs.

Participants used these apps:
Google Cardboard
Google Streetview
Google Expeditions

Scott was one participant who had the opportunity to 'lead an expedition':
