11:15 Patrick Ng (University of Niigata) - Enacting an ELF-informed teaching paradigm: The experience of one teacher. In this paper, the presenter explored the strategies and paths to document the ways he switched to an English as Lingua Franca (ELF)-informed teaching paradigm.

13:15 Tricia Okada (Center for English as a Lingua Franca, Tamagawa University) - “How did we end up here?” - Filipino English Language Teachers in Japan. One of the effects of globalization is the demand for English teachers that has evolved not only from native speakers but also to include non-native speakers. This change has paved the way for Filipinos to teach the English language in Japan.

This session reported on fieldwork at three authentic ELF environments in Japan, diverse in terms of purposes, event types, and participants (with their background experiences and language repertoires).
