April's meeting was on Sunday 11th April from 1.30 to 4.00pm

Presenter: Steve Quasha

Steve demonstrated how portfolio assessment plays an integral part

in his communicative English courses at a women's university.
Participants experienced tasks and activities that would enable them
to successfully:
develop grading rubrics
coordinate peer assessment
and
learn why shared accountability improves language acquisition

Creating portfolios provides students with the chance to learn the skills of:
reflection
self-evaluation
critical thinking
and
independent learning

Portfolios can be used in a variety of teaching situations to promote student
