Aichi University of Education
Welcome to the English page of the section for
European and American Cultural Studies
The European and American Cultural Studies course, which brought
together previous courses focussing separately on British and American,
and European Studies, aims to educate students for an increasingly
globalized and interconnected world. Students have the
opportunity to improve their foreign language skills in a number of
languages and also to gain an understanding of the cultures which they
relate to, with students having the chance to study both specialised
courses as part of our courses and other courses elsewhere in the
university. Specialised courses aim to avoid being purely
centered just on specific countries, but also to consider wider
groupings, such as the EU (European Union). In addition, the role of
languages as 'lingua franca' between non-native speakers is also
highlighted.
