The De La Warr Pavilion - Bexhill, East Sussex

Bexhill is a quiet seaside resort popular with retirees.
Architecture consists mostly of typical Edwardian hotels and
semi-detached and bungalow style housing.
Standing out prominently on the seafront however is the modernist 1935
De La
Warr Pavilion, named after the 9th Earl De La Warr and designed by
emigre architects Erich Mendelsohn (a German Jew) and Serge Chermayeff
(born Russia and brought up in Britain). Reopened in 2005 after
restoration, it is now used for art exhibitions and features an
auditorium for live performance.
