Environmentally-friendly transport
in California
Although transportation in California remains dominated
by cars, increasingly these are eco-friendly such as hybrids.
Rail travel is undergoing a resurgence in popularity, especially with
increased prices for gas. California gives 50% of all U.S. state
support to rail and carries 25% of passengers. In particular, San
Francisco has a great network of streetcars, light rail, buses and
trolleybuses, as well as its iconic cable-cars.

Los Angeles is known as a city of freeways. Gradually though, it
is increasing the amount of public transport. Here a Gold Line
light rail train arrives at Union Station. The Gold Line is now
being extended southwards through Little Tokyo.
