Taka tells you about Drinking in Britain 1

As far as I can see, drinking is an important aspect of people’s social lives in Britain. You can find pubs everywhere, even in smaller towns;
you’ll find one every ten minutes when you walk down a street. Some universities have their own bars within the campus. Such a drinking life
becomes wonderful as long as you are a drinker who can follow the rules and can control yourself.

In Britain, you might be surprised at the number of people who enjoy drinking beer or wine at pubs. Pubs are casual places where a lot of people
often gather after work, on holidays, and even during the lunch break on weekdays! I like the atmosphere not just because I’m such a boozer,
but because people there can have great fun and can feel relaxed; I’m sure you can enjoy the time just sitting and chilling out by yourself.
 In pubs, you can expect good meals as well. Starting from the classic iconic Fish and Chips, there are a wide range of menus available
including meat and vegetables. My favourite Fish and Chips in London cost about £10, and I imagine that it is almost the same in other pubs.
 I also liked the roast menu on Sunday which was priced at £13 - 15. Some pubs have their own brewery for producing their own craft beer,
e.g. Camden brewery in Camden, Fuller’s in Chiswick, and Meantime brewery in Greenwich.

Students like to hang out with friends, and university bars may be the most popular choice among them. Students can easily reach there because
university bars are usually located within the campus. What’s more, the prices are affordable and much lower than local pubs. The prices of a pint
of beer start from about £3.50 at such university bars whereas you would pay more than £5.00 at the cheapest local pubs. I particularly like the
university bars where different colleges stand close together, e.g. University of London, because I can meet and talk with many people from
different colleges, departments, and even countries! It is also good for students to go on a picnic with friends. Since London is famous for
beautiful parks such as Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, and Hampstead Heath, not only students but many people go out to have a party in these parks
when the weather is good.
