Moving to Scotland, here is the capital,
Edinburgh. It is the location of
the Scottish Parliament and has a population of almost
500,000:

Edinburgh has many imposing stone buildings, such as the
Balmoral Hotel, above
Edinburgh Waverley Station. It opened as the North British
Station Hotel in 1902.
Ever since, the clock has been three minutes' fast, to
help passengers avoid
missing trains.

The Melville Monument (1823), commemorating powerful
aristocrat,
Nenry Dundas, Viscount Melville. It is 42.6 metres high
and weighs
1,500 tons.

Opened in May 2014, and well over budget, is the Edinburgh
Tram, which operates from
the centre of the City, along Prince's Street and
westwards to the airport.
