Taka's Reflections on the Immersion Room Activities

The English Immersion Room lets us have opportunities to enjoy international life!
It is the best place to enjoy knowing other people, the different cultural backgrounds
all the participants have, and a lot of games from all over the world.

The English Immersion Room allows us Japanese students to communicate with people
and exchange ideas in English as well as letting international students know about 'true' Japanese culture.
There are various sorts of people joining the room; those who want to speak English, those who come back
from overseas study and are keen to keep up their English, and those who want to enjoy talking with different people.
Many aims are there, but you will never be let down; all you need is just to have fun!

I have joined these activities since I was a 1st year student. I could not get involved in the conversation at all at first;
I did not know who were there, and I did not have any confidence in speaking English. Seeing my 'sempai'
(older students) who came back from Australia enjoying the conversation with other nationalities, I wanted to be like him.
Finally, nowadays I can enjoy exchanging ideas with all the people in the room and also enjoy playing games together!

English has now become a world language that connects us with people from different backgrounds.
English is not for a certain people; it is for everyone. Just popping in to the room will let you meet all
kinds of people you would never meet otherwise. There is a world in a small room.
