Kuragaike and Kourankei

On 18th February, I made a trip with five international students to two nearby places:
Kuragaike Park, east of the centre of Toyota City, and Kourankei, further east
in Asuke, now part of Toyota City.

First, we visit the Toyota Commemorative Hall.  It details the development of the Toyota car company
from its roots in textile manufacturing.  Cars on display include this Lexus rally car:



We also saw this house built for Kiichiro Toyoda which originally stood in Yagoto in Nagoya City:


After having a quick look at the small zoo nearby and something to eat for lunch, we continued to Kourankei.
This location is most famous for views of autumn leaves in that season.  Less crowded in February,
we could see hina matsuri doll's festival displays dotted around in the town of Asuke, and take a
kinen shashin commemorative photo on the bridge at Kourankei:
