What is this plant?('-'?)

Do you know this plant? This plant is "Lotus",in Japanese "Hasu". "Lotus root"or "Renkon" in Japanese is a specialty of my hometown. In the summer, beautiful pink flowers come out. I regret that I can't show you the flowers in the picture.

My wish p(^-^)q

My wish is that my hometown will develop. This is the landscape of my hometown. To all appearances, it's countryside. I don't like my hometown too much because it's inconvenient to go anywhere. For example, it takes more time to go shopping and to places for enjoyment. Then there is a stockyard near my house, so I suffer from the bad smell. Thinking of something good, I can listen to music at large volume.

I have an idea to develop my hometown . The road traffic is heavy through my hometown, so I think if many restaurants, shops and amusement centers are built, gradually my hometown will become lively!
