Richard Tremaine

Richard's enthusiasm for Japan dates from his work as a computer engineer in Tokyo in the eighties. He has been active in developing Anglo-Japanese relations, especially in the areas of student exchange and railways. He is a founder and Chairman of the Japanese Railway Society. His two sons both work abroad. Robert, like his father, is a computer engineer in Singapore. Ed is a high school AET (Assistant English Teacher) in Kasukabe, north of Tokyo.

Richard came to the first day of classes in 2000 and found out about students' backgrounds and interests.
