Å@A nagado-daiko
whose body's diameter exceeds 100 cms is called an o-daiko (great
drum). Until recently the largest drum in the world carved from
a single log was the 'Osakibarai-daiko' of Okunitama Shrine in
Tokyo which has a diameter of 250cm. However a larger drum, also
made by Asano Taiko, has just been completed with a diameter of
266 cms and heads 206 cms across.
