Å@Å@Å@Nowadays following the lead of the jazz drumming style of Daihachi Oguchi, many players assemble a variety of different taiko into a set (kumi-daiko) in the manner of a Western-style drum kit. With the current 'taiko boom' this phenomenon has spread throughout the taiko world.

Because any number of different types of taiko can be assembled, a great variety of beautiful and complicated rhythms, tones and harmonies can be expressed. Depending upon the number of players, their musical ability or perhaps regional preferences, any number of combinations of set-ups is possible.
