Aiko and Tomomi report:
On 11th June, two young German guys came to our class. Their names are Heiko and Dennis.
Heiko talked about his school.
He liked school partly, for example some classes and teachers.
His favorite subjects were geography, biology, history, German
and English. He went to vocational high school which was like
a junior high school and high school in Japan. He went to that
school from 11 years old to 19 years old. He studied history,
geography and so on. Then he went to college . In Germany, people
can choose the college which they want to enter freely and there
are no tests to enter.
Next, we listened to Dennis's talk. He is an energy electrical engineer and works with machines making animal feed for farm animals. He has been working at this company for three years. There are 500 people in this company. He goes to his company by car. It is 7 km from his house to there . He experienced an apprenticeship for four years before he became a regular worker from 1993 to 1997. He spent 10 months in the German military with 2 months in the Netherlands. He is interested in technical and electrical equipment.
Heiko and Dennis returned to
the area in Spring 2004. Here they are at a car promotion in Sakae.
