Aiko Amano thinks:
that voting in elections by Internet is a good idea. Because
recently many people, especially young people, tend not to
vote in a general election. So I think that there are some
reasons, like young people thinking that going to vote is
troublesome. But if the internet is used for voting, people can
vote in their houses. And they can do it in their free time.
So the percentage of people who vote must increase before
long.
However, I think that would have several problems. Of course,
the vote has been done without putting any names. So nobody
knows who votes for which candidate. In contrast, if voters use
their personal computer at home, there may be a possibility
that the voter's name is made public. And although young people
can make good use of the internet, I think that it is difficult for
old people to use, so I am afraid that old people would come
to avoid voting. If it happened, using the internet for voting
would be meaningless. Although there are many problems, if the
problems are solved, I think that to vote in a general election
by using the computer will be a very good idea.
