Brian's visit

It was a good chance to know about Ireland.

We found out that -
The size of Ireland is 84,288 square kilometres and that in the Second World War, Ireland was neutral.

What surprised us -
that they don't have to pay money to study at university in Ireland, so that it is much cheaper than Japan. Brian also said that there was beautiful architecture in his college. It has 11,000 students.

that once they marry, they can't divorce.

that 41% of the population is under 25. There are so many young people in Ireland.

Brian played the guitar and mandoline -

"His guitar playing is very beautiful."

"We sang songs and it was a lot of fun."

"I was very moved by the song 'Danny Boy' (Londonderry Air). It is one of my favourite songs."

"His performance reminded me of the movie 'Titanic', as he played some songs from it."

"Some Irish songs attracted me so much."

"I have listened to The Corrs and like them."

How about places in Ireland?

"I found out that the symbol of Ireland is the shamrock."
A good place to visit is Dublin. Brian also recommendeed Galway in the west of Ireland.
Ireland's famous sports are football, rugby and hurling. There are fifteen people in a team for hurling.
In Ireland people can drink in pubs from 18 years old.

And finally........

"I was very surprised to hear that Brian went to foreign countries to work when he was a student. I felt that was great and that he has led a full life."

"When we were asked about our local area, we could hardly answer. I got a shock when I couldn't answer."
