The 4th of July

This anniversary commemorates 13 states of America declaring independence from Britain on July 4th 1776. In the U.S.A this day is a holiday nowadays.

Drafted by Thomas Jefferson between June 11 and June 28, 1776, the Declaration of Independence is at once the nation's most cherished symbol of liberty and Jefferson's most enduring monument.

The 4th of July is a time for the Red, White and Blue. A time for Picnics, Parades and Marching bands. A time for Beaches, BBQ and "Bombs Bursting in Air".

When I hear about Independence Day,first I think of my favorite novel: Little House on the Prairie. The heroine of the novel is Laura, who was about 16 then. She lived in a small town, and her father took her and her sister to a nearby city to celebrate Independence Day.The celebration party was held in the city. Laura enjoyed a horse race and lemon juice. People then remembered the Declaration of Independence, including her.
