HT=head teacher CT=class teacher
S= student M= mother F= father
HT (talking to the whole class): Hello, everyone. Today we'll decide a punishment for one student in our class. Before they appear, I'd like you to tell me all school punishments as far as you know.
So, I'll call them. Come in.
CT: Today we asked you to come to school to talk about your daughter who's been misbehaving at school. We are really bothered and worried about her.
S: Excuse me? Are you saying I have done something wrong?
M: Calm down, Chizuki. So you really mean she is bad at school?
CT: Yes, Mrs. Watanabe. We cannot allow her to dress like that at school.
M: Such as...?
CT: Well, nose studs, earpiercing, punkish style...She does not wear school uniform.
S: Well, that's because I do not like the school uniform.
CT: We do not want to hear your excuse.
F: Wait, wait, wait...I do not like you to treat my girl like that, Ms. Amano. I guess we should listen to her opinion.
HT: I think so, too, Mr. Watanabe.
F: Well, alright. Go ahead, Chizuki.
S: Sorry for getting too excited earlier. But I just wanted to tell you that I have never interrupted any other students.
CT:Yes,that's true. She never disturbs classes or other activities.
S:Yeah, of course. I dress like a punk because it's the way I can feel alive and recognize what I am. But you ask me to stop expressing myself in that way. I really don't understand why.
HT:Mr. and Ms. Watanabe, what do you think?
F:Well, I want to support her. She is a good girl. I believe she studies very hard and actually she got a high score in the last exam. What's wrong with her? She doesn't disturb anyone. I want her to do as she wants!
M:Yes, I totally agree with him. I don't think Chizuki is wrong. She is a really good girl. She often helps with some housework for me. Also, she is very kind to her brother. I know she looks different to other students, but I think the most important things are having a warm heart and being positive. This is our policy for child raising. That is all I wanted to say. Mrs. Ozeki?
HT:We want to develop the individuality of each student,too. But my school has a rule that all students wear the same uniform. If you want to wear punkish style clothes you should choose another high school.
F:We can't solve this problem by such a way of thinking.
M:My daughter is already a student of this high school. Is it impossible to go to school with this style?
CT:But,wearing a uniform is one of the rules of school. I would like you to persuade her to keep the rule. Also, punkish style doesn't look good to other people,I think.
S:OK. But,if I have to be punished, I want my classmates to choose it for me. Is it OK, Ms.Amano and Ms.Ozeki?
