What do you think is the most interesting period in the past for fashion and lifestyle?

Three periods which were picked out were the Heian Period in Japan with juni-hitoe (great clothes), the Middle Ages in France when clothes were 'gorgeous and beautiful', and twenty years ago (1981) which is identified with students' parents generation.
