Keiichi has been working in logistics for just over four years, with a transfer from one company to a related company in that time.
His talk answered questions including:
How many companies did he apply to?
He said that he applied to more than twenty companies, including English conversation schools and travel agencies.
What kinds of opportunities does he get to use English?
He gets the chance to talk with ships' crew members, who are mainly Filipino, as well as ships' captains, whether American, Bulgarian or Indians. If there are problems communicating, things can be explained in writing or with drawings.
How are his working conditions?
He has the opportunity of flexitime in his job but his schedule may be disrupted if ships arrive late because of bad weather.
His message for the 3rd year students is:
"Thanks for letting me join your class today!
You still have enough time for getting information about jobhunting,
so I recommend you to hear about experience from many many people.
And also enjoy your student life before getting busy."
