4TH YEAR ENGLISH COMMUNICATION CLASS
This class takes place from
1.20 to 2.50 on Mondays.
Students in this class currently number twenty seven. As well as
students in their fourth year at the university, there are students who
are back after a year abroad READ ABOUT SHOGO'S TRIP!
and international students from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Mexico.
We focus on issues related to work, as the students prepare for their
future careers, whether in teaching or other fields.
So far this semester, we have looked at:
work and money - including the current recession and what makes an
entrepreneur?
jobs and gender - including balancing work and childcare and the rise
of women as entrepreneurs and managers
workplaces - how can design enhance working lives, including TV clips
from 'Nippon' and
'Dreamspaces'
working beyond retirement - including a TV news item on elderly doctors
in rural Japan

On 29th June students exchanged experiences from teaching practice
after about two-thirds of the class returned from four weeks of
teaching practice
As well as work and teaching practice, we also focus on:
graduation thesis development
