One recent topic has been work, including both future jobs and current part-time jobs.
On 2nd June students took part in a role-play where some were applying for positions as
pub landlords (pub bosses) in Britain and others were interviewing them. They had to think about issues such as what kind of backgrounds and personalities would suit this kind of jobs and also how they would deal with difficult customers.
They have also written about their part-time jobs and I could find out that:
some students have three different part-time jobs
one student eats puddings at an Italian restaurant where she works around midnight
one student quit her cram school job because some other people there were 'stubborn'
one student feels that her work as a home tutor is good experience if she becomes a teacher
