4th Year
English Communication Class Mondays 120-250
In this
first semester, we are lucky to have Professor Cheryl Drout as joint
teacher. Cheryl is an educational psychologist from our sister
university, New York State University at Fredonia. She has added
many welcome insights.
The first two topics we focussed on were:
Attitudes to the work:life:wealth balance in Britain, Japan, and the
U.S..
and
Gender issues in employment in Britain, Japan, and the U.S..
We have also considered issues related to teaching practice
which most students in the class did during June. Here, students
are seen talking about their expectations for teaching practice before
starting:
On Monday 26th May, students from the U.S. joined our class for the
first of three times. See
some pictures
During
June, while most students were away on teaching practice, the remaining
students looked at media issues. Asami wrote about social
networking sites. What did she write about?
Yuki looked into 'Images of
Japanese people' in the U.S. media. What did she find out?
