Kathleen Mitchell

On Monday 24th May, my friend from teaching days
in Tokyo, Kathleen joined us from England
(before breakfast!). She had previously joined in a link-up in
July 2020. This time, she and one of
the zemi members
joined us in the classroom by using Zoom.
As the zemi tutorial students have
been earnestly involved in jobhunting, we talked to
Kathleen about her own experience of finding jobs, job interviews
and why she changed jobs.
We found out that she left her first main job because of
'wanderlust' - a desire to travel!
We also talked about how her son went about jobhunting and his
present job.
Later in her working life, Kathleen was an examiner for English as
a Foreign Language examinations.
In particular, she assessed written examinations, so she could
give some advice to the zemi members
as they prepare to write their graduation theses.
Kathleen is retired now and we talked about life in Britain in
this Covid-19 'Corona' era.
She also told us about her enduring taste for Japanese miso soup!
