Thailand Tabunka (Comparative Culture) Course: February-March 2021:
Thursday 4th March: A visit to 'Little World' in Inuyama.

First, we saw the indoor exhibition which features a huge number of artifacts, grouped under
various categories, plus archeological remains, illustrating the evolution of humankind and the
contrasts between how cultures vary in various aspects of life, including how they celebrate
rites of passage such as marriage and birth.

Oliver Mayer talked to the students about what they should focus on and think about:

Then we went to see the area showing a Northern Thai house and talked about its design and took this commemorative
photo near the stall for Thai food and drink:

Here are some items. The drinks were more authentic than the chicken!

We then looked at exhibits showing other countries. In particular, we looked at the area focussing
on Germany (Bavaria), with its buildings including a church. Oliver Mayer talked about his homeland
and explained cross-cultural aspects.

See our Virtual Tour of Bangkok on 5th March.
