Symposium at AUE on Sunday 11th February 2019
As part of a symposium for elementary school English teachers, a
CLIL element was
included with visiting speaker, Chantal Hemmi, who is now at
Sophia University.
However, I first met her when we worked together at a language
school in Tokyo.
With past experience advising teachers when she worked at the
British Council,
she has come to specialise in CLIL. She gave a presentation which
showed how
a CLIL class could focus on Aichi's powerful agriculture, which
provides both
food and flowers.
